Akalis are cheaters, says Beant Singh convict Rajona in his letter

CHANDIGARH: With Chandigarh court order in Rajoana case being reserved for today, Balwant Singh Rajoana, convict in former chief minister Beant Singh assassination case has again flatly refused held from Akalis and Badal government.

In his latest letter released from the Patiala jail, Rajoana has specifically declined to accept any sort of favour or help from the Akali leaders even though Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal-led Punjab government stated in House on Monday all efforts would be made to save Rajoana from hanging.

However, the copies of the letter released his foster sister Kamaldeep Kaur outside the central jail, Rajoana terming the blue-turbaned Akali leaders as 'cheaters', Rajoana wrote in letter: "I don't need any help from blue-turbaned Akali leaders, who have not done anything so far to secure justice for Sikhs. Akali leaders have started speaking up now as they fear that if they don't, they will lose their support.

He also criticized Congress and BJP for whipping up sentiments on his execution to derive political mileage.

Apparently perturbed due to belated action by the government, Rajoana wrote, "Akalis are trying to secure sympathy for me from Delhi with folded hands. But history would never forgive them for their failure to secure justice for Sikhs," said Rajoana.

He also turned down the support offered by Beant Singh family members and Amarinder Singh saying he "didn't want to seek any help from them, who are the representatives of killers".

Rajoana has also refused to accept the title of "living martyr" from Akal Takht.Rajoana who is currently lodged in Patial jail is slate to be hanged on March 31.
