How to Troubleshoot a Sears Kenmore Dishwasher 587-151824

    • 1). Select a wash cycle with a longer cleaning time and/or hot temperatures if soils or residue is left on dishes after the wash cycle completes. Avoid overfilling the dishwasher and ensure the hot water temperature in the home is set for at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 2). Avoid selecting "Air Dry" cycles if the dishes are not dry when the wash cycle is complete. Fill the rinse aid dispenser with rinse aid detergent, available at most grocery or drugstores. Do not open the dishwasher mid-cycle, as this may prevent the cycle from completing.

    • 3). Load delicate items in the top rack and allow at least 1 inch between items if dishes or cups are chipped after washing. Avoid overfilling the dishwasher and make sure tall items will not hit the top of the dishwasher when the top rack is pushed in.

    • 4). Run the food waste disposal in the sink near the dishwasher if the washer is not draining properly. Look to see if the drain hose is kinked or blocked and clean out any large food objects or debris from the bottom of the dishwasher tub.

    • 5). Make sure the dishwasher door is firmly closed and latched and a dishwasher cycle is selected if the dishwasher does not start washing. Press "Start" after choosing a wash cycle.
