1040 Tax Table Instructions for in Between Numbers
- 1). Determine filing status. Filing status is either single, married filing jointly, married filing separately, or head of household.
- 2). Determine net income located on Form 1040, Line 43.
- 3). Find the net income on the left side of the tax table, and match the income with the filing status. Their are two income numbers, an "at least" and "lesser than" number. For example, at least $300 and less than $325, so if a person had an income of $300, he is included in this tax bracket. If a person had an income of $325, he would be in the next bracket for at least $325 but less than $350.
