Trailer Jack Instructions
- 1). Select a socket from socket set the matches the size of the nut located on the bottom of the U-bolts securing the trailer jack to the trailer tongue. Connect the socket to a 3/8-inch ratchet handle. Check each hex nut to ensure they are tight. Turn the ratchet handle clockwise to tighten any found loose hex nuts.
- 2). Wedge one wheel chock under the front and back of one trailer wheel to keep the trailer from rolling.
- 3). Turn the jack handle clockwise to raise the front of the trailer. Place the hitch ball attached to your vehicle under the hitch located on the front of the trailer. Turn the jack handle counterclockwise to lower the trailer onto the hitch ball. Make sure the inner jack arm pulls completely into the trailer jack. Remove the wheel chocks before moving your vehicle.
- 4). Place wheel chocks as described earlier before disconnecting the trailer from your vehicle. Turn the handle of the trailer jack counterclockwise to lower the jack. Set a block of wood under the trailer jack to prevent the jack from sinking into the ground before putting weight on the jack.
- 5). Push the end of a grease gun onto the grease fitting located near the jack handle. Pump the grease gun handle to push grease into the gears of the trailer jack.
