How Long Does it Take for Mederma to Work?
- Mederma is an over-the-counter treatment used for scars related to acne, stretch marks, surgical wounds, and burns. The active ingredient in Mederma is allium cepa (which is a form of onion extract). Allium cepa has anti-inflammatory properties, meaning it can reduce swelling surrounding a scar and also stimulate collagen growth around the skin. It also contains ingredients such as aloe that keep the skin around the scar soft, preventing hard, scarred skin from forming.
