How Daring Are You? Do You Let Ridicule Stand in Your Way?

You must be prepared to be a unique individual and take an unusual approach to life.
Many great people are inventors of doing things their own way.
Great thinkers think outside the box and are willing to take risks.
They do not worry about what other people say or worry about any ridicule they may receive.
If you have a goal and a vision, you must a truth to it and follow it through to the end.
John Gahliardi is a football coach who took an unusual approach to coach.
No one had ever seen this kind of coaching before and many questioned whether it would be effective.
John taught at St.
John's University which is a small Catholic school that has around 1500 to 1600 students.
When this coach first came to the school, they started questioning his methods.
John would have all of his players call each coach by their first name.
The coach called each student by their first name and thatwas the way it was.
John did not make his team practice for long periods of time.
He did not believe in his students going out and breaking the next practice for the next game.
He did not believe in making his students lift weights all the time like most, if not all, college football curriculums do.
He would encourage weight lifting and conditioning, but it was not mandatory.
In fact, John limited his practices to 90 minutes maximum time.
We John started coaching in high school when his high school football coach got drafted into the military.
The football team appointed him to be the next coach and he did what worked.
Basically he did the opposite of what every other coach ever did.
He believes most of his players know how to tackle and play hard when it is time.
John would focus on practicing 150% whenever his team practiced.
He believed in executing plays to the best of their ability.
He believed in playing to the team's strong points and dismissing the weak ones.
He would show his team clips of previous games and what they did right, not what they did wrong.
He believed in showing them what they did right and how to improve and make that a very strong part of their game was a winning strategy, not focusing on their weak points.
While this was an unusual strategy and still is, it worked.
John Gahliardi was willing to go above and beyond what was expected of him.
He did not care about ridicule or what people said.
He was there to do a job and do it well.
He figured out what works for him and went with it.
Do you have an unusual goal or idea that you want to pursue in life? Are you discouraged by what people might think or what they have already said to you about your unusual goal? You should do some research and see if there is something behind what you are thinking.
Do not be discouraged by other people's words.
If you truly believe in something, go for it, but just be open for feedback along the way.
Things do not always go as planned.
