Huntsville Luminaries

One of the most beautiful nights in Huntsville occurs on the second Saturday in December when the Twickenham Historic District is aglow with over 5,000 luminaries for their annual 'Host of Christmas Past' Homes Tour and other special events in the area: besides the homes tour, there is the annual Candlelight Christmas Memorial at Maple Hill Cemetery for the unknown soldiers from the Civil War, the Aids Action Coalition "Light of Hope" on the steps of the Huntsville Museum of Art, Live Nativity Scenes & Open House at Holmes Ave.

Methodist Church, and the Luminary Night Celebration at First United Methodist Church.

This night is one event that you really must see in person to appreciate. I tried to take pictures of some of the activities, but failed miserably to capture the magic and beautiful. I strongly suggest you check it out for yourself next year!
