Benefits of a Movable Chicken Coop

If you and your kids have decided to try out backyard chicken breeding and would like to start with only a few chickens like 2 or 4, the best way to provide a shelter for your new pets is by constructing a movable chicken coop! Yes, one that can be moved from inside the garage to any part of the yard so that they can be secure yet able to roam around and do their thing while your children (and you of course) watch and observe the ways of your new pets.
To make the whole chickens-as-pets family affair more interesting, it is suggested that you build your own movable chicken coop and have each member of the family participate in the construction of the chicken coop! This way, everyone (with the exception of the dog, of course) would have a direct hand not only in taking care of the new pets but in having built the chicken coop, which by the way is an effective deterrent against the family dog in playing with the chickens! A movable chicken coop is most advisable for a lot of reasons such as 1) your yard is landscaped and you don't want the chickens tearing up the flowers and other plants; 2) although your family dog may be very friendly, you never can tell as soon as the chickens are within their reach; 3) you want to be able to put your chickens inside the storage shed or the garage at night time (what better way to do this than put them in a movable chicken coop and put the coop inside, chickens and all!) and 4) cleaning up after the chickens is as easy as transferring the movable chicken coop a 6 to 8 feet away from where it originally was! Movable (or portable) chicken coops are no different that other chicken coops aside from the fact that they are obviously smaller and can only accommodate 4 chickens at the most and are very easy to transfer from one location to another.
This type of chicken coop is not very popular among those who have more than 6 chickens.
If the quantity of chickens you have are more than 4, then building a permanent or semi-permanent chicken coop is the better option rather than building a portable chicken coop.
If your chicken breeding hobby is temporary or only dedicated to 2 or 4 chickens at the most, then movable chicken coops are the way to go.
With them you don't have to worry about having a permanent structure in your premises that you may not need if you or the children are simply trying out chicken breeding for fun.
However, there is a bigger chance that you will soon upgrade to a fixed structure once you get the hang of breeding chickens in your backyard!
