June 1 until mid September: Free Music in the Parks hundreds of concerts held at Minneapolis and St. Paul parks, and in parks in cities across the Metro area. Just about every musical style is represented, many local artists and musicians are taking part, and every concert is free.

June 1 until mid September: Free Movies and Entertainment in the Parks as well as free concerts, you can see free movies, comedy, theater, puppet shows, and all kinds of family entertainment for free in parks across the Metro area.

May 29 - June 2 : Flint Hills International Children's Festival Children's performances at the Ordway Center, and free art activities at the World Party outside in Rice Park and Landmark Plaza in St. Paul introduce children to all kinds of performing arts.

May 29 - June 2 : Edina Art Fair is one of the larger art fairs in the Twin Cities, with live music, food, children's activities, and Edina-style entertainment like fashion shows and lifestyle demonstrations.

June 1, and every other Saturday until late September: Saturday Night Historic Cruise Ins Classic cars will be filling downtown Hastings twice a month. If you want to bring yours, it has to be pre-1976, and worthy of the attention.

June 2: Grand Old Day The 40th annual Grand Old Day has a parade, sporting events, music from several local acts, dancing, children's activities, food, free samples products and more. All along St. Paul's Grand Avenue.

June 6 - June 16: 10-Minute Play Festival the Lakeshore Players premier ten-minute comedies and dramas in White Bear Lake in this annual festival.

June 6: Taste of Vadnais A miniature version of the late Taste of Minnesota festival. Local restaurants will be serving their signature dishes, together with music and children's entertainment at Vadnais Heights City Hall Plaza this Thursday night.

June 6 - 16: Nature Valley Bike Festival The Nature Valley Grand Prix, a pro bike race attracting international competitors is the centerpiece of this event, held from June 12-16. The Stillwater, Uptown Minneapolis and new Downtown St. Paul Criterium races are action packed high-speed events. And there's plenty more to do as well as cheering on the racers. This festival celebrates cycling culture with more races, an expo, children's events, stunt riders, demonstrations and more.

June 7 - 9: Father Hennepin Festival Historians, and the city of Champlin, would have it that Father Hennepin first crossed the Mississippi River at what is now the suburb of Champlin, back in 1680. This community festival has music, a parade, fairground rides, and culminates in a re-enactment of Father Hennepin crossing the Mississippi.

June 8 - 9: Deutche Tage - German Days Bavarian breakfast, a 5K run, beer, food, music, and entertainment celebrate summer German-style at the German American Institute on Summit Avenue in St. Paul.
