How to Troubleshoot a Sears Kenmore Dishwasher

    • 1). Go to the breaker box in your home and open it. Look for the breaker labeled “dishwasher” and make sure that it is turned to the “On” position. If not, reset the breaker. Make sure the dishwasher is plugged in. If your dishwasher still fails to power on, you may need to consult with a repair specialist.

    • 2). Look under the sink closest to the Kenmore dishwasher, if your dishwasher is leaking. Under the sink, locate the drainage tubes coming from the dishwasher.

    • 3). Make sure that all hoses coming from the dishwasher are straight and not kinked. If they are kinked, straighten them out.

    • 4). Open the Kenmore dishwasher door and take the dish tray out of the unit. Take the dishwasher’s strainer out of the unit and remove any pieces of food.

    • 5). Remove the rinsing agent cap from the dishwasher door. Use a sponge and hot water to clean gunk out of the dispenser. Set your dishwasher to “Regular Wash” and let it run. If the dishwasher is still linking, you may need to consult a repair specialist.
