How to Wire a Trailer Hitch on a Bravada

    • 1). Open the rear tailgate and remove the screws which secure the back panel of the taillights. Pull the wires out so you can access them easily.

    • 2). Put the key in the ignition, turn to the "Power On" position and turn on the taillights.

    • 3). Attach the grounding clip of the 12-volt test light to a section of bare metal near the left rear taillight. Touch the probe to the electrical connections of the taillight, to look for the power source for the marker lights. The test light will illuminate when you have found the correct wire. Repeat this process to find the power wires for the right and left signals.

    • 4). Connect the brown wire from the four-way wiring harness to the power source for the vehicle marker lights with a Scotchlok connector. Place one wire in each slot and closing the connector's gate. Connect the harness green wire to the right signal power wire, the harness yellow wire to the left turn signal power wire and the harness white wire to any black wire at the taillight.

    • 5). Wrap the connections with electrical tape to provide additional protection from the elements. Run the wires under the carpet and place the harness in a suitable stowage area, such as the spare tire compartment, and secure loose wires with cable ties if needed.

    • 6). Push the wires back into the taillight fixture and reattach the back panel.
