Aranjuez is one of Madrid"s most underrated day trips
How to Get to Aranjuez from Madrid
Aranjuez is an easy day trip from Madrid, with the local train from Puerta del Sol taking you directly to the town in an hour.

Getting There from Madrid
Take the C-3 Cercanias (local train) from Sol or Atocha train station to Aranjuez station. The journey takes just under an hour and cost me 8€ for a return ticket.
The Royal Palace in Aranjuez is 15 minutes' walk from the train station (there are signposts). And then it's a further 30- to 45-minute walk to the Casa del Labrador in the Jardín del Príncipe.
I'd suggest the Chiquitren (one of those tourist 'trains' that you see driving around cities that are popular with tourists) to explore Aranjuez. Tickets are available from the tourist booth in front of the Royal Palace.
Chiquitren departure times From Tuesday to Sunday at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 16:00 and 17:15. At weekends there are a few extra departures throughout the day. No departures on Mondays.
Alternatively, take one of these Aranjuez guided tours.
