My Haier Dehumidifier Won't Start
- 1). Verify that the dehumidifier is plugged in and the outlet is getting power. Make sure the dehumidifier is turned on. Plug in a lamp to test the power supply; if it does not light up, make sure the fuse or breaker has not been tripped.
- 2). Pull the water bucket from the front of the dehumidifier and empty its contents. The dehumidifier will stop working to prevent the bucket from overflowing. Replace the bucket and wait about three minutes before starting the dehumidifier again.
- 3). Make sure that air can circulate around the dehumidifier and that the filter is clean. Curtains, blinds and furniture can limit the amount of air going into the machine and cause it to stop. Place the dehumidifier away from any obstructions. Pull the filter from the back of the machine and clean it with a vacuum.
- 4). Unplug the dehumidifier and let it stand for a few minutes. Plug it back in and try switching it on again. This will allow the machine to reset itself.
- 5). Contact Haier for repairs. If these steps fail to solve the problem, you may need to repair or replace your dehumidifier. You may be entitled to free repair or replacement if your Haier appliance is within its warranty period.
