How Going Green Saves You Green

Ways to save money by going green and living green are all around you, if you'll just look! Kermit the frog was wrong - it's easy being green, and you don't have live like a mountain man (or woman) to gain the benefits of greening your lifestyle! All you have to do is put forth a little effort.
The problem with our world today is we've become spoiled by having so much cheap energy, and fun products to put that energy to use, at our disposal.
I'm not saying we should be punished for enjoying modern technology - just the opposite.
We should be rewarded - and we can be rewarded with cold, green cash as we change some our earthly behaviors.
I'm going to give you some easy examples of how going green saves you money.
- All those electronic devices that you keep plugged in.
Cell phone charger, DVD & CD players, and the TV that sits on standby all night - use substantial amounts of electricity, even when you're not using them.
Do you leave your computer on 24/7? Turn them all off! An easy way to do this is to buy a cheap "power strip" with a switch.
Now, it's easy to turn off all of your electronic appliances while you sleep.
This is a great example of how going green saves you money through a lower utility bill, while at the same time greening the planet by using less fossil fuel to generate less electricity! Cool! - Another way that going green can put green in your pocket is to stop buying bottled water and start drinking filtered tap water.
There is absolutely no proof that fancy bottled water is any better for you than plain, old tap water.
In fact, bottled water can contain harmful substances that are released by the plastic bottle itself.
And, save the environment by not throwing away plastic bottles.
You'll save huge amounts of green by not buying cases of bottled water each week.
And, your landfill will love you for not adding 24 (or more) plastic bottles to the trash! Just another great example of how going green saves you money.
- How about ditching your car for a day and walking or riding your bike? Most of us think nothing about taking the car out for a 1 mile errand.
This is wasteful of gasoline and hard on the car as well - it never heats up (causing great wear and tear) and gives poor gas mileage to boot.
Plus, think of the benefit for your body if you'd get out in the fresh air for a while! One more great example of how going green saves you money.
See, these are all easy things you can do to help the environment! And, the savings can really add up.
It's not unusual for the savings in the thousands of dollars each year as a result of greening your lifestyle.
Not to mention the benefits to Mother Earth!
