A Guide to Buying Family Camping Tents

Shopping for a new family camping tent? As a general rule, get a tent that will accommodate at least one more person than will be using it. For best weather protection, look for a tent with a full rain fly, a tub floor, sealed seams and good ventilation. The best way to shop for a tent is to go to a sporting goods store and check them out in person. You'll get a better feel for the tent sizes and features. If you prefer to shop online, choose your family size from the list below, and then read reviews and compare prices for family tents from Coleman, Eureka, Kelty, Paha Que', REI, Sierra Designs and The North Face.
