California’s lesser-known wine region, Lake County, produces some of the state’s most delicious wines. The county is known for bass fishing in Clear Lake, California’s largest lake, which is believed to also be the oldest lake in North America. Cabernet sauvignon is the most planted varietal in the region, though steel-aged sauvignon blancs are also a favorite.
