How to Make a Brochure for an Exhibition
- 1). Choose layout. Look through the layout template options available on your desktop publishing software. Choose a layout, theme and look that will fit the brochure cardstock you are printing the brochure on. Some themes may also come with photos and icons that are representative of your business or industry.
- 2). Create cover. The front of your brochure is one of the most important aspects of the brochure because it is the first impression the exhibition attendee gets when they read your brochure. Add your business name as the headline on the cover and include your business contact information such as the address, phone number and website address. Modify the layout you have chosen to tailor the cover to fit your needs, including adding your business logo or an illustration to the front along with the text.
- 3). Make inside flap. The first panel of the brochure when you open it should contain information about your business. Add copy that describes what type of business product or service you offer clients, so the reader will immediately understand what your business does.
- 4). Create center panel. Add copy to the center inside panel of the brochure that discusses the benefits that your business products or services provide clients. Keep the audience that is attending the exhibition in mind, so you can include the benefits that are most relevant to them.
- 5). Create far right panel. The far right inside panel of the brochure should contain a special coupon or promotion that is only available to the exhibition attendees. Add an offer that gives incentive to show attendees to buy your product or service on the spot at a discounted rate rather than wait until the exhibition is over and the price goes back to normal.
- 6). Add information to the back. Repeat your contact information on the back of the brochure. You may also want to reiterate the benefits clients receive from working with your business by using a bullet point list.
- 7). Customize and modify. If you chose a layout with existing photos and graphics, make sure that these represent your business well. If not, customize the photos by replacing existing photos with uploaded pictures of your own. Color schemes of brochure layouts should also be changed to fit the colors of your company, so go through the brochure and change the colors of borders, text, etc.
- 8). Print a test copy. Before you print on the brochure cardstock, print a test copy of the brochure on plain white paper. Proofread the printed version and check to make sure that the copy prints within the layout and design of the cardstock. Make any adjustments or revisions until it prints the way you want it to look.
- 9). Print on brochure stock. Print one copy of the brochure onto the brochure cardstock and make sure that it looks how you want it to look. Then, print enough copies to hand out to each of the attendees at the exhibition.
