How to Unistall Spyware Guard 2008

    • 1). Download a reliable anti-virus or anti-spyware security software. Before downloading, read user reviews and find out whether the particular program is able to detect a Spyware Guard 2008 infection. When prompted, choose to save the installer executable file (.exe) to your desktop. Wait for the download to complete and close all open programs and documents.

    • 2). Install the program. Double-click on the file icon you just downloaded to initiate the installation process. Specify the directory where you want to install and follow onscreen prompts to walk through the process. Do not change default settings unless you are sure.

    • 3). Launch the program and set up automatic updates for the software from the program's home interface. Find the "Updates" option under "Tools," "Options" or "Settings."

    • 4). Initiate a full system scan. Navigate to the program's scan options and select to perform a thorough scan; if the program is set by default to ignore certain file types or directories, change the settings to include all files in all locations on disk. Click on the button labeled "Scan" or "Start" to begin scanning. You will be able to see a status bar showing progress along with scan details such as currently scanning files and location. Wait for the process to end.

    • 5). Return to the home interface. When done scanning, the program will display a "Scan Complete" message and prompt for a confirmation from the user. Click to confirm and view the results. The program will generate a list of identified threats, along with details such as infection type, infection date, location and assigned threat level. Review all identified malware.

    • 6). Take action to disinfect. Click to check or uncheck the box adjacent to each item in the list and specify which action to take. You may select all items and apply the same action if you are sure that the program has not reported any harmless files as threats. Check all Spyware Guard 2008 entries in the list and click "Delete" or "Remove." The program will now remove the selected items and place them in quarantine.

    • 7). Restart the computer when prompted. After the operating system loads, the program interface will launch again and resume activity. Follow prompts to complete the clean-up process. When done, repeat a full system scan to check whether Spyware Guard 2008 files and registry values have been eliminated from the system.

    • 8). Review the log file generated after the scan. The document will open automatically in Notepad and should state that the program has found no infections.
