Some camps are set along the coast, while others are sponsored by private companies or universities.

    • The Offense-Defense Football Camp focuses on teamwork, discipline, respect and hard work through its football philosophy, which consists of the 4Cs: Coaching, Curriculum, Contact, and Commitment. A unique feature of this camp is that the coaching staff is comprised of NFL coaches, players and elite college athletes, so your child gets the best instruction possible. The curriculum is customized to fit your child's abilities as he will be assessed on the first day of practice and be matched up with players of his same age, size, skill level and ability. Although the camp is a contact-football facility the coaches are committed in providing a safe environment from which to learn. In 2010 the Los Angeles campsite will be held at Chapman University in Orange, California.

    The Lorenzo Neal Football Camp

    • The Lorenzo Neal Football Camp, which takes place on the San Diego State University campus, provides beginners and experienced players with some of the best tailored instruction featuring professional football players from the San Diego Chargers. The camp focuses on teaching fundamentals of offense and defense through daily instruction, lectures and on-field practices. In addition this youth football camp presents specialized instruction for key positions such as quarterback, running backs, centers, linemen, ends, wide receivers, linebackers, special teams and secondary. They also incorporate San Diego Chargers highlights and instructional films into the camp's curriculum

    CAL Football Camp

    • The University of California at Berkeley offers two types of football camps for youths: full-contact and non-contact camps. During the full-contact camp, the Cal Football Staff provides player analysis in order to adequately assess the abilities of each player, as the camp offers individualized instructions for specific positions such as quarterback, receiver, runningback, fullback, and linemen just to name a few. The non-contact camp is open to both girls and boys ages 6-13 who wish to learn the fundamentals of playing the game. The Cal Football staff teaches football basics through drill stations which focus on different aspects of both offensive and defensive positions. Each player is matched by age, size and skill level in order to produce an optimal training environment.

    Contact Football Camp

    • With an established 33-year record of successfully training kids, the Contact Football Camp, located on the Whittier College campus, features week-long and half day football camps open to children ages 8 to 18. Voted as "the top football camp" by "Sports Illustrated for Kids" magazine, Contact Football Camp features full contact drills and practice games led by Whittier Head Coach BJ Hammer and Assistant Coach Walt Fletcher. In addition the camp conducts specialized instruction for positions like quarterback and wide receiver that featuring drills and instruction in leadership, passing techniques, drop-backs, quickness and footwork for quarterbacks, and correct pass routes, patterns and spotting defensive coverages for wide receivers.
