Jacksonville FL is one of the most beautiful cities in the US.
If one sees it at night, one will be amazed at the lighting.

1. The Jacksonville River Walk is probably the most popular attraction in Jacksonville.
   One can walk along the River Walk and enjoy a water taxi ride across the river to some great places to eat.
   It is hoped that the city leaders will spend some money and make repairs to some of the areas that need work.
   At night, the fountain is spectacular, and the lights are stunning.
   
2. The Jacksonville Landing is THE place for shopping and restaurants.
   Located directly on the St.
   Johns River, the views are spectacular, and the food is excellent.
   Here is a fabulous place to spend the afternoon or an evening.
   
3. The Museum of Science and History filled with incredible exhibits and of course, "The Dinosaur Experience," has to be the number one family attraction.
   There is a remarkable Planetarium with a wonderful view of the universe.
   There are several exhibits for the children as well as adults.
   
4. The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens offer over 500 pieces of art, plus a magnificent garden, filled with 1.
   5 acres of beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers.
   There is an excellent gift shop and an extremely pleasant restaurant.
   One can easily spend an entire day in this wonderful place.
   
5. Fort George Island is a terrific place to spend the day.
   The Timucuan Indians, who challenged the French when they took over the island, first occupied the island.
   Zephaniah Kingsley, who lived there from 1813 to 1839, occupied the Kingsley Plantation.
   The Plantation House is the oldest standing plantation house in Florida.
   Some of the slave shacks and the barn can be seen.
   Fort Caroline marks the fleeting presence of the French on the island.
   
6. The Jacksonville Maritime Museum contains exhibits, models, photos and artifacts from the history of the maritime.
   
7. The Jacksonville Fire Museum offers one the opportunity to see a 1902 horse drawn fire engine, plus a working 1926 fire engine.
   There are thousands of items and artifacts from the firefighting history, not just of Jacksonville, but also all over Florida.
   
8. Hemming Plaza is a mecca in the middle of Jacksonville.
   A beautiful park, filled with trees, shrubs and flowers, offers one an excellent opportunity to relax and enjoy the Jacksonville skyline.
   The only draw back is that sometimes there are homeless people in the park, but it is safe.
