At last count almost 60 million Americans are living without insurance and this figure shows a marked increase from previous years. As the U.S. economy continues to worsen it is speculated that even more people will find themselves uninsured in the coming year as more people need to forgo health insurance premiums in order to be able to pay their other household expenses.
During the past decade both children and adults have lost their private coverage and this figure is of significant concern to those who are wondering how they will be able to afford health care in the coming years as the government begins to impose fines on those who are choosing to live without health insurance. These figures for adults and children did seem to fall differently however with a marked increase in the number of uninsured adults in the country and a significant decrease in the number of children without insurance.
