How to Treat Blackheads

Making and applying a blackhead solution

    • 1). Boil 1/2 cup of water in a small pot or microwaveable container.

    • 2). Pour three drops of iodine into the boiling water.

    • 3). Add one teaspoon of Epsom salt immediately after the idione. The water must be boiling so the salt will fully dissolve for you to use.

    • 4). Allow the solution to cool until you can comfortably touch it to your skin.

    • 5). Soak a cotton ball or q-tip in the solution, and apply it to the blackhead(s). Repeat this process two or three times, making sure the solution does not cool too much. You want the heat to help open up the pore when you apply the mixture.

    • 6). Remove the blackhead and dab some rubbing alcohol on the pore. This will sting, but the alcohol will help dry out the newly opened pore, as well as help the solution to disinfect it.
