- 1). Locate the savings bond calculator on the Tools menu of treasurydirect.gov (see Resources). From the home page, select the section for "Individuals" and the "Tools" option will be in the top menu bar.
- 2). Select "Get Started" on the Savings Bond Calculator page. The calculator page cannot be saved as a favorite; it must always be entered through the savings bond calculator directions page.
- 3). Enter your savings bond information into the calculator. The required items are the bond series, denomination and issue date. The serial number is optional. The issue date is entered as the month and year of issue. For example, 062006 or 06/2006 for a bond purchased in June, 2006.
- 4). Click on "Calculate" to get the value of your bond. The results will provide the bond value, interest earned and interest rate the bond is earning.
