How to Make Spring Cleaning Easier

Here are ten tips to make your spring-cleaning a little easier, a little more satisfying, and maybe a little more fun.
Tip #1 - Start with a list.
Begin by taking a walk around your home and take notes on the areas that need attention.
You can then break your list down by task, by room, by surface, or even by the cleaning method used.
Tip #2 - Gather all of your cleaning supplies in one spot.
Now that you have your task list, you can begin to make notes on the different cleaning supplies you will need.
Once you have what you will need you can stage them in one area of your home.
This will save you a lot of time.
Tip #3 - Do one task for the entire house before moving to the next.
For instance, clean all of the windows in your home at on time; all of the ceiling fans; or wash all of the baseboards.
This will save you time by not having to switch between cleaning products and methods.
It also does wonders for motivation when you complete such a big task Tip #4 - Start at the top and work your way down.
Begin with ceilings and crown moldings.
Next, clean your ceiling fans.
Then clean your walls, windows, baseboards, and doors.
Once this is complete, you can clean all horizontal surfaces such as mantles, tables, and countertops.
Save your floors for last.
Tip #5 - If you have help, be sure you don't all work on the same task.
This will keep everyone out of each other's way.
Assign a different room to each person.
Tip #6 - When you clean closets make sure you have plenty of storage boxes, trash bags, or other methods of separating items for discard.
It is a lot easier to remove everything from the closet, clean the closet, and then only put back what you need rather than trying to decide what to throw away.
You will find you don't seem to need to keep as much when you do it this way.
Tip #7 - Save the grocery shopping until after the refrigerator and pantry are clean.
This saves a lot of time by you not having to move as many items; once everything is clean, stock up.
Tip #8 - Use a combination siding and window cleaner to clean the outside of your home.
Most of these cleaners can be hooked up to a water hose and used at ground level rather than having to use ladders.
Tip #9 - Have a garage or yard sale before you begin your spring cleaning project.
You can get rid of clutter and make a few bucks in the process that you can use to reward yourself.
Tip #10 - Make it a party.
Cleaning doesn't have to be a chore.
You can invite friends over to have a spring-cleaning party.
Offer to do the same for them.
Don't forget the cocktails
