How to Put Together a Socket Wrench
- 1). Choose a socket that is the correct size to fit the nut or bolt that you will tighten or loosen.
- 2). Slide the side of the socket that has a square hole onto the square fitting of the socket wrench. Listen for a click, indicating that the socket is securely on the wrench.
- 3). Twist the lever on the back of the socket either right or left, depending on whether you are using the wrench to tighten or loosen. Twist the lever to the right to set the wrench to tighten; twist the lever to the left to set it to loosen.
