What is a Prophetic Leader to Do When Many Attacks Get Him Down? Accept This Spiritual Reality!

Paul is a man of God, exercising a prophetic ministry, with apostolic authority and spiritual insight.
This man had demonstrated qualities of leadership in so many various ways.
We can all learn from this man.
He has an amazing ability to discern what was of God and what was not, as gifts of the Holy Spirit operate in his life.
Yet he has to flee to Athens for his own safety.
This was all the result of a vision from God.
Some pray, "O God, give us a fresh vision".
Be careful if you pray that.
Paul was imprisoned in Philippi and he was at the centre of a riot in Thessalonica.
He was the target of agitators and stirrers up of people in Berea and all following that one remarkable vision.
He is alone in Athens, and surrounded by idolatry.
Everything looks so desolate.
It gets him down.
What can a man do? Go for a walk! Paul is alone in Athens for his own security, and he becomes greatly distressed.
Surely dearly beloved Paul, a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, was never greatly distressed.
Luke, you must be exaggerating! No, No, No! How many would turn to these words as one of their favourite Bible passages? Yet we probably experience distress more than we openly acknowledge.
Paul is facing the fury of the enemy, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
You can read all about it in the book of Acts at Chapter 17, and it is certainly a worthwhile read.
Reading the Word of God always has its own very special and particular reward.
He is in this cauldron of confusion and turmoil, alone.
He asks that his colleagues come to Athens quickly.
Leaders so need other leaders to be around them.
We are built for fellowship.
Jesus, does it not all appear a bit of a mess? If you happen to be going through something akin to this in these days, do not think you must be out of the will of God.
Sin can make things go almost wild for a season.
Such situations are experienced by many, and it is when we study the Scriptures that we are given an insight and understanding as to why.
