American Idol - American Idol Season 7 Winner: David Cook

During the seventh season of American Idol, a rocker from Missouri won the reality show. He was crowned as the American Idol on May 21, 2008 as David Archuleta was the runner-up.

In Omaha, Nebraska, he auditioned for the said show singing Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer. His brother Andrew was supposed to be the one auditioning for the show. He only accompanied his brother for the audition. Andrew did not make the cut while Cook tried out and luckily passed the audition.

In the Hollywood week of American Idol, he sung songs like Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams and I'll Be by Edwin McCain. He also used an acoustic guitar for playing the Bryan Adams' song. That time, Cook was not making his impact yet until he reached the third week of semi-finals.

During the semi-finals round, Cook sung different songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s as the theme for the three weeks of semi-finals round. He sung songs like Happy Together, All Right Now and the remarkable performance of Hello.

As he made it to the Top 12, he is starting to make impacts on his performances such as Eleanor Rigby, Little Sparrow, Always Be My Baby, The Music of the Night, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and the hit Billie Jean. He continues to rock out every week using instruments such as acoustic and electric guitars.

Cook has also never been in the bottom three alongside with David Archuleta. They both have showed top performances every week. In American Idol, it was also shown that Cook loves to do crosswords puzzles and even calls himself a word nerd. He was also seen wearing an orange wristband to support a child with leukemia, a fan named Lindsey Rose since he made it to the Top 12.

David Cook received a 56% of votes in the finale results of American Idol. He owned the song, The Time of My Life, the winning song of American Idol season 7.
