How to Install a Diablo Sport Power Puck
- 1). Remove the key from the vehicle's ignition. Allow the engine to cool down for approximately 30 minutes before beginning installation.
- 2). Locate the vehicle's MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. This sensor detects the air and fuel mix of the engine and is generally located on the right side of the engine. A MAP sensor has a flat plastic housing with a plastic release latch and contains three wires.
- 3). Disconnect the MAP sensor by pressing down on the release latch and unplugging the cable from the engine.
- 4). Plug the female end of the Power Puck's boost control cable into the engine's MAP sensor.
- 5). Plug the male end of the Power Puck's boost control cable into a free connector leading to the engine's ECU (Electronic Control Unit). The Electronic Control Unit is a computerized unit which receives information from the MAP and adjusts the fuel/air mix of the engine accordingly. Like the MAP sensor cable, the ECU cable will have a flat plastic housing with a plastic release latch and contain three wires. ECU cable connectors are generally near the MAP on the right side of the engine.
- 6). Remove the cap from the engine's Data Link Port (DLP) connector. The DLP is generally located about 10 inches below the engine's fuel pump. The engine's DLP connector will be a flat plastic female-end connector containing three wires.
- 7). Plug the male end of the Power Puck's data link connector into the engine's DLP connector.
- 8). Wipe down the surface of the engine's fuse box with the included alcohol swab. Allow the alcohol to evaporate fully before continuing.
- 9). Peel the protective film from the back of the Power Puck's Velcro attachment.
- 10
Press the exposed adhesive back of the Power Puck's Velcro attachment against the surface of the fuse box. Allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before removing the Power Puck from its Velcro attachment.
