Definition:

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is the official manual published by the American Psychiatric Association which lists all psychiatric and psychological disorders and their diagnostic criteria. Its fifth edition, commonly known as the DSM-5, was released at the Association's Annual Meeting in May 2013. It replaced the DSM-IV, which had been in use since 1994.
