How to Install a Heating Element in a Frigidaire Dryer

- 1). Unplug the dryer's power cord from the wall outlet. Insert the putty knife into the gap between the front and top panels. Press the knife into the internal clips about two inches from each front corner.
- 2). Lift the top panel up and back to rest on its hinges or against the wall behind the dryer.
- 3). Remove the two screws near the top of the front panel. Unplug the plastic wire connector leading to the front panel.
- 4). Set the front panel aside. Move the idler pulley arm toward the front of the Frigidaire dryer. Slide the belt off the drum.
- 5). Lift the drum out through the front opening. Set the drum aside.
- 6). Disconnect the electrical connector leading to the heating element in the back of the inside cabinet. Remove the screws holding the heating element to the cabinet.
- 7). Remove the heating element from the dryer. Install the new heating element in its place. Reverse the previous steps to put the Frigidaire dryer back together.
