Crystal Therapy - The Energy Of Beautiful Stones
If there is one thing that's very noticeable about the various forms of energy healing, it's that there are certain "overflows" between them.
There are not so much radical differences between the various methods, as much as subtle differences in terms of the way energy manipulation is performed.
Such is the case with crystal therapy, which is quite similar to the practice of Feng Shui in that it uses external stimulus to affect the energy flow in the human body.
Specifically, crystal healing refers to the use of crystals and gemstones (it is also known by some as gemstone therapy) to invoke energy changes in the mind and body, that can lead to internal healing.
There are a number of uses for crystal therapy; it has been used to alleviate illnesses, reduce stress, increase positive energy and even alter poor behavioural habits and traits.
The purpose of using crystals is to harness the various vibrational rates that are present in the crystals.
The vibrations emitted by the crystals are able to interact with the energy auras present in human beings.
Hence, the crystals can alter the auras found in a person's body.
This is, of course, where the basis of crystal therapy as a healing art derives: if a person's aura is negative or the source of illness then the crystals can revert the aura back to its proper harmony and eliminate any negative aspects that are present.
Does this mean that you can randomly place crystals around a room or pick up a "pre-fabricated" crystal therapy kit and hope for the best? Very unlikely.
But, as with the marketing of Feng Shui items, there are those who seem to be selling "instant crystal therapy" solutions.
So, if you are looking for a legitimate and serious option for crystal therapy it would be far better to find someone who is a professional, versed in the proper performance and utilization of these crystals.
Personal referrals are always an excellent way to find a good therapist.
Of course, this is not to say that you should not try to educate yourself on the subject, or not purchase any crystals on your own.
Rather, it simply acts as a way of pointing out a common maxim many people forget: nothing beats experience so if you are looking for maximum benefit seek the help of a qualified practitioner.
I'll go into more detail about specific crystals and there healing properties in later articles; in the meantime, look out for my next article in this series on "Energy Healing" - the subject will be Reflexology.
