- 1). Fill a bucket with 1/2 gallon of warm water and 1/4 cup of baking soda and mix.
- 2). Insert a scrub brush into the water mixture and shake it to remove most of the moisture.
- 3). Open the refrigerator door and scrub the top rubber gasket gently with the scrub brush concentrating on the areas of highest mold growth.
- 4). Rinse the brush and continue scrubbing the top, bottom and both sides of the gaskets all the way around the door.
- 5). Empty the bucket and fill it with clean, warm water. Dip the brush into the water and use it to rinse away all of the baking soda residue from the gaskets.
- 6). Wipe the gaskets with a clean, dry towel to remove all traces of moisture. Make sure to wipe until you can rub your finger across the gaskets and they do not feel wet. Any moisture left on the gaskets will cause the mold to regrow.
