How to Repair Plastic Car Light Lenses

- 1). Mix warm water and a mild dish detergent into a bowl or bucket. Soak a washrag in the solution and wet the lens.
- 2). Sand the wet lens with 1500 grit sandpaper. Do not let the lens dry; reapply water as necessary to keep the lens wet while you sand. Sanding the lens will remove scratches and any haze buildup on the lens.
- 3). Spray a specialized cleaner, such as FW1 Fast Wax, onto the lens. Rub the wax in a circular motion across the lens surface to spread it evenly. After ten to twenty seconds, buff the wax with a clean cloth to remove remaining haze from the lens.
- 4). Cover and buff the lens with regular car wax or lens polisher if needed to remove any remaining haze or to add shine to the finished lens.
