How to Assemble a 1989 Ford Bronco Steering Column
- 1). Turn the Bronco off and disconnect the battery with a socket wrench.
- 2). Pry the steering wheel cover off of the steering wheel with a flathead screwdriver. Disconnect the horn's electrical connector and remove the horn cap from the steering wheel.
- 3). Remove the two bolts securing the steering wheel to the steering column and pull the steering wheel off.
- 4). Remove the two screws under the steering column and pull off the access panel.
- 5). Pry off the lower plastic cover of the steering column with a flathead screwdriver.
- 6). Uninstall the two screws on the side of the steering column with a Phillips screwdriver.
- 7). Remove the two bolts securing the column to the dashboard.
- 8). Lower the steering column and disconnect its electrical connectors. To assemble the steering column, reverse the disassembly procedure.
