Located inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cosby, Tennessee, is a convenient place for RVers to stop. Because there is only one RV park in the town of Cosby, however, travelers may wish to look at surrounding areas. Newport and Pigeon Forge have RV parks, as well as shopping facilities like Newport's Wal-Mart. - Cosby Ranch is near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The RV park offers daily and monthly rates with a choice of full or partial hookups and allows tent camping. The campground has a swimming pool, along with a basketball court and catch-and-release pond for fishing. There is also a gift shop with basic supplies, a laundry room and shower blocks. Cosby Ranch is less than 20 minutes from the country music theme park, Dollywood. White water rafting and fishing are available on the Pigeon River, and visitors can hike in the national park.

The campground has 79 sites, each with full hookups and a picnic table, and there is a shower block and laundry room. The RV park is child-friendly and recreational facilities include a horseshoe pit, playground and volleyball court. Campers can fish onsite. The town of Newport has shopping, including a Wal-mart.

triplecreekcamping.com - Smoky Mountains KOA features well-groomed, shaded RV spaces, is located close to Interstate 40 and is child-friendly. There are 95 sites with full hookups and several cabins. The RV park has a pool, a game room with pool table, as well as a well-stocked store and laundry room. The campground caters to larger rigs, and its longest pull-through sites are 82 feet long, with 99 sites overall. 50-amp service is available, as are such amenities as wireless Internet and propane. The RV park has waterfront access to Douglas Lake and visitors can fish there free.

The sites are rather close to one another, and while the park is landscaped, most of the trees are on the surrounding hillsides. There are approximately six pull-through sites. Wireless Internet, 30- and 50-amp service, and cable TV are available. This park is not geared towards larger RVs--however, those up to 30 feet will not have a problem. RV sites are available to purchase, and some of the residents are year-round or seasonal campers. There is a central pavilion, laundry room and swimming pool. The campground is located in Pigeon Forge, just off U.S. Highway 321.
