What Makes Risoul the Ideal Resort for Family Ski Holidays in France!

When planning ski holidays you should look at all the options - Ask yourself which county? Which area? Which ski resort? France is one of the most sought after destinations for skiing; a ski resort worth looking into is Risoul.
It is not as well known as the other French Ski Resorts of Tignes or Val d'Isere.
However this is what makes it so appealing.
Risoul is a ski resort in the south of the French Alps that opened in 1977 and has links with the neighbouring Vars ski resort which gives a combined total of 174km of pistes.
The skiing area is called "Domaine de la Foret Blanche".
Risoul is making a name for itself because of its good value and great ski weather until April.
Skiing in Risoul is best suited to Beginners and intermediates.
The resort is ideal for first-time skiers with wide sunny nursery slopes and tree-lined runs.
There is also a fenced off area for children's skiing and in Vars you will find a children's nursery slope with a 'magic-carpet' lift and easy slope for adults.
Intermediate skiers can enjoy the array of runs from the beautiful and relaxed to the off track and challenging.
There are a number of black runs for more advanced skiers, the best black runs can be found in Vars.
The slopes in Risoul are not crowded so you will have plenty of space to test out your skiing skills, jumps and tricks.
The busy main village has a small range of reasonably priced ski shops, souvenir shops, bars and restaurants.

Children under 5 also get Free Ski Passes.
The resort offers a wide range of non-skiing activities such as an outdoor ice-skating rink, 35kms of snowshoe and walking trails, Skidoo rides, a cinema, Snowboard Park and many others.
Risoul is accessible from Turin airport in Italy with a transfer time of 1 hour and 15 minutes but it is also possible to transfer from Grenoble, Chambery or Marseille airports.
All of these airports have the approximate travel time of 2.
5 hours from the resort.
Risoul is a purpose built ski resort that offers a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 star apartments and chalets; there are still a handful of wooden chalets to give a more traditional feel.
If you are a beginner there are instructors and classes available for individual and group lessons so the whole family can take part, alternatively you can have private lessons while the kids go to the ski school which has space for 60 children at once.
