How to Display Stuffed Animals in a Baby's Room

    • 1). Pull the stuffed animals your baby seems to make the most connection with from the collection and put them in a prominent place, such as the rocking chair, the changing table or the dresser. If the collection is large, pull only one or two favorites out.

    • 2). Sit stuffed animals around the room if the collection is small. Put any large stuffed animals on the floor. Place smaller ones among the books and other items on a bookshelf, dresser or shelf.

    • 3). Mount a series of hanging pocket organizers to tuck stuffed animals into. Pocket organizers are long, wide strips of fabrics with different-sized pockets sewn onto the front. These organizers are made to hang behind doors and keep nursery essentials in order. They come in a variety of fabric prints and can display a small---but growing---stuffed animal collection. You can add another organizer to the wall when needed.

    • 4). Use a large oval floor basket to neatly arrange a mid-sized stuffed animal collection. Put the animals into the basket feet-first so they're sitting shoulder-to-shoulder and peaking out over the rim. As your baby grows, she'll be able to easily reach and play with them.

    • 5). Hang shelves long enough to hold all the special stuffed animals---vintage teddy bears or cherished gifts, for example---and sit them together.

    • 6). Consider building special storage for extra-large collections. Install wide shelves with a short rim around the entire perimeter of the room, close to the ceiling. Set each stuffed animal so that it's peering over the rim of the shelf down into the room. Another way to display a large collection is to fully utilize the top surface of a dresser or armoire and stack the stuffed animals. Start with the largest stuffed animals on the bottom. Add rows of progressively smaller animals until only the smallest remain. Tuck those into the little spaces between the other animals.
