Facts About Mazatlan, Mexico
- Surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains on Mexico's northern Pacific Coast, Mazatlan is in the state of Sinaloa, which is 745 miles south of the Arizona border.
- Expect temperate, tropical weather year-round. Temperatures range from the mid-60s to the mid-90s.
- Visit the Mazatlan Aquarium, which has live shows featuring trained sea lions and exotic birds and more than 300 species of marine life from around the world. Other attractions: Mazatlan Aquatic Park, whale and dolphin watching, horseback riding, boogie boarding and snorkeling
- Known as the billfish capital of the world, fishermen can try their hand at catching swordfish, marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, tuna and Wahoo. There are also four golf courses and Pacific League baseball from October to January.
- Interesting places to visit are the Pacifico Brewery, one of Mexico's largest breweries, and the Sierra Madre Mountain village of Concordia, which features the artworks of local artists.
