Skycaddie Gs5 Operating Instructions

    • 1). Locate the battery cover on the back of the SkyCaddie device. Using a screwdriver, loosen the battery cover screw and pull back on the rubber USB cover. Insert the provided battery at an angle in order to align it with the two grooves on the SkyCaddie. Push the battery into the compartment until it snaps into place. Replace the battery cover.

    • 2). Plug the mini-USB port on the wall charger into the bottom of the SkyCaddie. Insert the other end of the charger into a nearby wall outlet. Charge the SkyCaddie until the charging indicator (located on the top left side of the device) turns green.

    • 3). Access the CaddieSync official download page (skygolf.com) on a desktop or laptop computer. CaddieSync is a desktop application that communicates with the SkyCaddie SG5. Select the type of computer you use as well as the SkyCaddie GS5 model from the right column. Select "Download CaddieSync" to download the SkyCaddie application onto the computer. Click the "Run" option after the file downloads to install SkyCaddie onto the computer.

    • 4). Launch the CaddieSync application on your computer. Select the "Activate a New SkyCaddie" button from the welcome page. Follow the instructions from the "Get Connected" setup assistant to register and activate the SG5. If desired, select a SkyPlayer annual membership plan to access even more features such as theft protection, online support and course storage. When finished, disconnect the SkyCaddie from the computer.

    • 5). Stand outside on the golf course prior to beginning a round. Select the "Start" option on the SkyCaddie by pressing the Left Soft Key. Press the soft key to advance past the initial startup screens to display the Satellite Searching screen. Allow several minutes for the SkyCaddie to acquire the GPS signals needed to play.

    • 6). Press "Select" to select your course after SkyCaddie has located it using the GPS Satellite signals. Select the driving range or a hole on the golf course to begin playing from your specific course location.
