Centerpieces With the Birds of Paradise
- Create a vibrant orange centerpiece for a festive Halloween party or Thanksgiving dinner table decor. For a Halloween centerpiece, fill the bottom of a square vase with black glass gems and insert stems of orange bird-of-paradise and orange and white roses or daisies, with the bird-of-paradise as the main flower. Use a mix of yellow, orange and red glass gems instead of black to create a Thanksgiving decor piece.
- Accent a tropical-themed party space using a combination of pink, orange and yellow bird-of-paradise flowers to create the arrangement. Add other tropical blooms, such as red ginger and orchids, to design a full, lush bouquet. Display the fresh flowers in a tall cylinder vase for a dramatic appearance. A bright festive ribbon or a raffia wrap can circle the bottom of the vase for extra visual appeal.
- Vibrant citrus colors complement a bird-of-paradise centerpiece. To create the eye-catching table decor, place a glass vase in the center of a large glass bowl. Fill the bowl with whole, unpeeled oranges, lemons or limes, or a combination of all three. The fruit will surround the vase, securing it into place. Place a bouquet of yellow or orange bird-of-paradise flowers inside the vase to finish the centerpiece. If you are using oranges, put yellow flowers in the vase. If you are using lemons, use orange flowers. For a mix of fruit, mix the flowers as well.
- If you don't have any fresh bird-of-paradise flowers on hand, use their faux counterparts to make a glowing centerpiece. Place a single orange, yellow or pink artificial bird-of-paradise bloom, along with one or two fake green leaves, into a cylinder vase. Fill the vase with water and place a round floating candle on top of the water, with the artificial bloom beneath it.
