Necessities of a Road Trip
So, you're thinking of taking a road trip.
Could be fun, right? Well, it could also be a disaster if you don't prepare properly and have the necessities.
The most important thing is to go with friends and/or family because a road trip by yourself just isn't that much fun.
Besides that obvious factor, here are some tips for you to make your road trip is both fun and enjoyable: Make sure you either pack the RV with enough food and drinks to last the trip or have enough money to stop at places to eat.
Nothing can turn the mood of a road trip south faster than hunger and thirst.
Charge up your iPod and bring some good music.
Radio commercials can get really annoying and nobody wants to deal with fussing around with different radio stations when the frequencies change.
Bring other things to occupy your time.
Chances are your RV doesn't have WiFi, so laptops will only do so much good in this department (unless you really like solitaire).
If you bring your laptop, make sure you have movies downloaded or DVD's to insert.
Otherwise, bring something along like cards or a board game.
Have a plan of where you want to go.
The trip itself can be spontaneous, but don't catch yourself not knowing where you're going.
Even if it's a loosely put together plan, it's better to have one than to not have one.
Bring enough gas money.
Running out of gas will suck, especially if you're in the middle of nowhere.
On that same notion, make sure you have a spare tire in case you get a flat.
To expand on that last bullet point, make sure your RV is properly maintained before taking off.
Putting an RV on the road when it has mechanical issues is dangerous and can turn your road trip into a disaster.
Be sure you have a good RV mattress.
Life is going to be a lot more painful and a lot less enjoyable if you can't sleep well at night.
Get out of the house and enjoy the open road.
As long as you follow these tips, your road trip can be a success.
