5 Reasons to Use Wind Power

Are Wind Turbines Really a Good Idea? Wind generators have been used since ancient times.
They are good for helping clean up our environment! There has never been a better time to use wind power for all your home's and business' energy needs.
Wind generators have been used in the U.
S.
for many years now.
As a matter of fact, wind energy is gaining more popularity than any other renewable energy source of power.
And, much of this implementation of wind energy has been over the course of three years.
Several states, have wind farms, such as Texas, California, the Great Plains area and more.
Let's take a look at just some of the benefits of using wind power: 1.
Wind turbines only need wind speed of about 7 - 10 mph in order to produce electricity.
And if perhaps, you live in areas that don't have an abundant supply of wind, you can either save with batteries the unneeded energy your turbines produce for later use or let the grid provide your extra needed electricity.
2.
The government wants consumers to implement clean energy, such as wind power.
Therefore, many incentives, such as tax credits are available from the government on different levels.
These governing bodies are on the federal, state or local levels.
The federal government is offering 30% tax credit until 2012.
This particular tax credit is dollar for dollar and not just a tax deduction which adds even greater benefit to your tax return.
3.
Utility suppliers are required by law to offer "net metering" to all consumers who are connected to the grid.
Net metering is a program designed to actually pay consumers by means of a credit for any unused electricity produced by renewable energy means, such as wind turbines.
This premium rate is in addition to the rate the grid their customers.
4.
Wind turbines have been objected to by some because of noise levels.
Wind turbines have been stated to be not any noisier than a washing machine.
And they are virtually maintenance free for years and are built to last.
They can even be disassembled and moved if they need to be.
5.
Wind turbines produce clean, safe energy.
Our environment desperately needs cleaning up and using renewable energy sources, such as wind turbines would provide just that.
Although many incentives are available that perhaps most Americans are not aware of, time is running out.
The tax credits are available until 2012; however, with the economy such as it is today and governmental cuts, these programs could be removed before 2012.
