How to Get Verizon Phone's Signal Back

    • 1). Check to see how many signal strength bars you have. These bars indicate how strong your signal is---the more bars the better. If you have little or no bars, this means you have virtually no signal. This is likely the cause for your dropped service.

    • 2). Make sure you are above ground (not in an basement, for example) to reach the maximum signal potential. Your phone's reception is dependent on how well it can reach service waves from the nearest Verizon cellular tower.

    • 3). Stay away from other electronics that eat up air waves. Computers or other gadgets that rely on WiFi reception may interfere with your cellular phone signal and make it more difficult for the device to function properly.

    • 4). Update your roaming. Verizon recommends that its customers do this at least once a month. Dial *228 on your phone and select Option 2 to refresh your roaming and improve your phone's signal capabilities. The call is free; no fees are applied to your bill.
