What Is a Diet and How Do I Find Good Diet Advice?

Whenever we look at diets, we tend to see it all as one big pile.
Many different names all ending at the golden word, "diet".
But what is a diet actually? And how do we define it? In my own opinion, a diet has to be a healthy, well-documented, and long-term plan in order to earn the term "diet" in its phrase.
However we do see a lot of quick weight loss ideas that do not meet any of the criteria's mentioned above.
The short-term unhealthy weight loss plans, all share the same slogan, "lose weight fast" and are all unhealthy or down right dangerous to follow as the concept in these plans often requires the person to starve the body from most foods, thus keeping the body from getting the vital nutrients that our bodies must have in order to function.
If followed only for a few days, there is no real danger to your health as the body can manage some time without vital nutrients, but if such a plan is followed for longer periods, the results can be catastrophic! These eating plans can hardly be classified as proper diet advice, and you should really look towards well-established diet advisers in order to get some real and healthy tips on the best diets on the market.
Examples of good diets are the 40 30 30 diet, Blood group diet, the Atkins diet and the south beach diet are all among the best diets on the market and are all well trusted by diet professionals.
Of course there are some short-term diets that will give you a good effect yet still keep your within a healthy scale, but most often these techniques are used in order to kick start a weight loss and will often be used in conjunction with some of the best diets as a starter tool.
My best diet advice would be to read up on the famous diets, and then use the advice you find in those diets, instead of spending many hours on searching for a quick solution that really does not exist.
