Viewing the majestic falls at Niagara Falls in Canada is often a one-in-a-lifetime event. Many visitors to the world wonder choose to make the trip in the winter, but unlike some destinations, there is just as much to do at Niagara Falls in the cold months as there is in the summer. - With 95,000 square feet of gaming space, Casino Niagara offers visitors a break from the blistering Canadian winters. The gaming area also has all the classic tables games, such as Craps, Roulette and Let It Ride, more than 1,600 slot machines and daily poker tournaments. There is also a section for sports betting.
The casino offers a number of dining options for gamers including The Market Cafe, the hip Quench Bar and the casual atmosphere of Lucky's. Along with live music concerts on the weekends, the casino also hosts a comedy club, Yuk Yuk's which performs shows on Thursday through Saturday evenings.

casinoniagara.com - Perfect for history buffs, the Battle Ground Hotel Museum is located on the actual Lundy's Lane Battlefield, the site of a battle during the War of 1812. Along with artifacts and historical memorabilia from the Battle of Lundy's Lane, the museum is also dedicated to preserving the early days of the Niagara Falls tourism industry. The museum building is also a preserved nineteenth century tavern, the last of its kind in the city. There is a free parking lot near the museum and is open by appointment in the winter months. There is also a small gift shop which sells T-shirts, tote bags and other items.

niagarafallsmuseum.ca - Starting in early November and lasting until after New Year's Day, the Winter Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls is an extensive lighting display along the streets of town. The road displays named the Winter Wonderland, includes lights that form candy canes, snowflakes and evergreen trees are just a few of the displays. The festival includes concerts, such as the Chistmas Concert Series, and the Niagara Falls New Year's Eve Extravaganza. There are fireworks displays in the evenings on most weekends during the festival and the falls are illuminated every evening.
There is no admission to view the lights on the Winter Wonderland route, however as of the winter of 2010, the festival does accept a suggested donation of $10. Concerts and ice skating at the Rink at the Brink does require purchasing tickets and the prices vary depending on the event.
