Democrats Claim Republican Motto is "I Don"t Care About Anyone But Me" - Is That a Fair Ch
It is amazing how the Democrats claim that the Republicans are the party of the rich.
It is interesting because our nation is divided about 50% Democrats and 50% Republicans.
And 50% of the people in the United States are not rich, they are middle-class.
And there are both Democrats and Republicans who are middle-class.
Not long ago, I heard a rhetorical comment from a Democrat political strategist on CNN who was busy bashing their debate opponent who was Republican leaning.
The Democrat political strategist stated that the Republican's motto is; "I don't care about anyone but me!" But is that really a fair assessment? You see, it appears to me that many Democrats want to tax everyone else and take their money away and then give it to the causes which they support.
So maybe the rhetorical answer might be; "I care about you, and everyone else, and therefore I don't want to steal anyone's money and reassign it to social causes that they might not approve of.
" You see, there is a very great quote; "if you give a man a fish, he will be back every day for another fish, but if you teach him how to fish he will provide for himself for a lifetime.
" I'd say that famous quote is quite apropos to this debate, and I'd also suggest that many of the social programs are absolutely out of control, that we are paying people not to work, and that people who are getting money from the government are abusing the privilege, while everyone else is stuck paying the bill, and when the government's tax receipts are less than the expenditures, the government deficit spends, and we owe the interest in the future on that debt.
If a Republican is against that sort of methodology, it would appear to me that they are prudently financially responsible, and that's a good thing, and certainly nothing to be condemned for.
Using a guilt trip to force an agenda which is based on flawed thinking is inappropriate in this great nation.
It is rather unfair that the Democrats would claim that all Republicans don't care about anyone but themselves.
Besides that there's nothing wrong with tough love, it works in families, and we are not a nation of weak people.
We are a nation of strong people, families that came from other places to build a new life, and that is what has made us great.
Further, I would suggest to you if you really care about people you wouldn't give them fish, thus making them weak.
You would help make them strong and teach them how to fish, without giving away the store.
Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
