October Car Shows in Illinois

    • Illinois is the fifth-highest populated state in the country. Although 65 percent of the residents live in the Chicago metropolitan area, the majority of the state consists of rural areas and small towns. In October there are annual car shows that attract many visitors to Illinois.

    Oglesby Harvest Fest Car Show

    • The Oglesby Harvest Fest Car Show is an event that was started in 2010. In 2011 the event is scheduled to take place on October 1. Awards are given to the top 40 cars at the event. There are a series of fun contests and challenges, including a spark plug challenge. Food and beverages are available in addition to a raffle and door prizes. There is a $10 entry fee for all visitors and car participants. The money that is raised from the car show benefits local children's activities.

    Lebanon Chamber of Commerce Car Cruise

    • The Lebanon Chamber of Commerce Car Cruise is an annual event that is held in Lebanon, Illinois. The event for 2011 is scheduled to take place on October 8. The first 100 entries receive free dash plaques. Before the car cruise begins, the cars are parked along the cobblestone streets in downtown Lebanon. There is a DJ who plays 50's and 60's music. The event also has a raffle and attendance prizes. The Lebanon Chamber of Commerce Car Cruise is designed to be a fun environment for visitors of all ages. As a result, no alcohol is allowed at the event.

    Carquest Trunk or Treat Car Cruise

    • The Carquest Trunk or Treat Car Cruise is an annual car show that takes place in Wood River, Illinois. The event is scheduled to take place October 22, 2011. All of the cars that are entered in the event are parked along Lakin Boulevard for visitors to admire before the car cruise begins. Dash plaques are given out to the first 50 entries. Candy is given away to all of the kids. There are also door prizes, a raffle and a professional DJ on site in order to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.
