• Norton is a well known provider of various Internet security and antivirus products. Norton Security Scan is offered free of charge from the Norton website and scans Microsoft Windows PCs for viruses and other online threats.
  
  

Limitations

• Although Norton Security Scan scans for viruses and other issues, it does not have the capability to remove them--if it finds anything, the software will recommend installing another Norton product to remove the threats.
  
  

Alternatives

• Norton Security Scan does not replace a full Internet security package. Packages are available from numerous software companies and some freeware programs are also available. You should always run a proper antivirus application on your Windows PC.
