How to Uninstall Mcafee Service
- 1). Choose "Start" in the bottom left hand corner of your computer. Choose "Settings" and "Control Panel." This opens the Control Panel window.
- 2). Double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon. A list of programs currently installed on the computer is displayed. Locate the McAfee program and click on top of it to highlight it.
- 3). Choose "Remove." This opens a dialog box that asks "Are you sure you want to remove McAfee from computer?" Choose "Yes" and allow the program to uninstall. This process will take a few minutes. After the process is completed, a message is displayed indicating that the computer has completed the uninstall process.
- 4). Choose "Finish" and restart the computer. After the computer has restarted, verify that the program is no longer installed by accessing the Control Panel as described in Step 1 and ensure that McAfee is no longer listed in the Add/Remove program list.
- 1). Choose "Start" then "Search." Type "Programs and Features" then "Go." Double-click the "Programs and Features" icon.
- 2). Locate the McAfee program from the list of programs installed on the computer. Click on top of the program and choose "Uninstall." A message will display asking if you would like to continue with the uninstall. Choose "Yes."
- 3). Allow the uninstall to complete, then restart the computer. After the computer has restarted, access Programs and Features as described in Step 1 and verify that the McAfee program is no longer listed.
- 1). Click on the link to download the tool from McAfee's website. A message stating "Would you like to save this file?" is displayed. Choose "Save" and browse to the location on your computer where you'd like to save the file. Choose a location, such as the Desktop, where the file will be easy to locate.
- 2). After the file is saved, double-click it. A dialog box is displayed asking if you want to proceed with launching the file, choose "OK" then "Run." The McAfee cleanup tool will proceed with cleaning all files associated with the McAfee program.
- 3). After the cleanup has completed, a "CleanUp is Successful" message is displayed. Restart your computer.
- 1). Click on the link to download the tool from McAfee's website. A message stating "Would you like to save this file?" is displayed. Choose "Save" and browse to the location on your computer where you'd like to save the file. Choose a location, such as the Desktop, where the file will be easy to locate.
- 2). After the file is saved, right click on top of it and choose "Run as administrator." A dialog box is displayed asking if you want to proceed with launching the file, choose "OK" then "Run."
- 3). Allow the cleanup to continue.
