Garage Organization, Getting Rid of the Junk
There are many different ways to get your garage clean and organized, but first you need to get rid of all the junk that's laying around, taking up space.
You don't have to do this garage organization all by yourself, which can be a bit overwhelming to say the least.
Employ your kids, and you whole family to help you.
Don't try to do it all in one day either, because trying to rush everything in one day you will overlook many things, and may end up getting rid of something you really need.
Instead, set aside a weekend for garage organization, preferably when the weather is nice, but not too hot.
Getting the family involved will cut your time in half, and although they may not be too eager at the beginning, in the end they will really enjoy it.
Don't try to overwhelm yourself with trying to take on everything at once, just do it in sections.
Have three designated areas, keep, throw away, and yard sale.
Have the kids get involved, maybe even go through their old toys they don't want any more and put them in the yard sale pile.
Now there are some things that are just junk.
Anything that is broken, and god only knows why you kept these things, can get put into the throw away pile right off.
Anything that the family has grown out of can be put into the sale pile.
If you do your organizing in small sections at a time before long you will find that you have cleared out your whole garage.
Once this is done, the next step is to get rid of all the things you don't want anymore.
Having a yard sale is a good way to dump all of your junk on someone else.
Make sure that you go through the throw away pile as well.
If you think there are some things that can be fixed, maybe you should consider donating them to some charitable organization before just throwing them in the trash.
If there are things that can be recycled you should do that as well, to cut down your impact on the environment.
